Buggy Summer
August 15, 2010
This describes my fear of bugs, among my fears of other things.
There were really great drawings commissioned to go along with the text, but the art somehow didn’t make the archives, which is really too bad.
Hope you’re surviving whoever comes to visit!

Since I live right next door to Texas, I didn’t find any of this funny. I took you as dead serious, and I hear that! Spiders have been moving in lately, even trying to inhabit my sink. I expect an eviction notice any day. I’ve taken to shaking out my clothes before I put them on, and I’m considering mosquito netting. And as for mosquitoes — let’s not even go there.
This is hilarious, Meredith! Way to go! I remember huddling under the stairs at work the day of the green, green sky. [insert shudder] I remember thinking, “I just don’t want to die alone!” And the house my husband and I rented before we bought this house could go head to head with your apartment with Heather in terms of unhappy “perks”–as long as you swap out your ladybugs and replace with an asthma-inducing case of mold under the floorboards. But the home had charm! 🙂
oh, man, I am sorry about that. we had a home with mold for two months. we were like “we can’t wait to get rid of these air fresheners!” when we moved in and then, um, we did, and we realized why they’d been put there. asthma bloomed in my chest like a flower and we GOT OUT of there.
